
2021 Blue Ridge Adventure
Race Weekend

The 24th Annual Blue Ridge Adventure Race Weekend will take place on May 7th-8th, 2021.
This year's 8 Hour race will be exploring some of the best areas of the Aska trail system with a great paddle down the Tocca River. The 24 Hour race will be visiting the Cohutta Mountains which includes the best mountain bike trails in Georgia with the Pinhotti Trail. All teams will be bused to a secret location to then work their way back to town and always finishing at Grumpy Old Men Brewery.
Teams will be exploring the mountains, rivers, lakes, trails, and beautiful woods surrounding Blue Ridge, Georgia. All races are for solo, 2, 3, or 4 person teams coed or (same-sex) open.

8HR Race
The 8 Hour Adventure Race is perfect for sport or family teams looking to have some fun discovering the outdoors with adventure racing. Easy to read and simple navigation will take you to some hidden spots around Blue Ridge. Distances are always based on your team's abilities and speed in adventure racing, however between 20-30 miles of mountain biking, 5-8 miles of trekking with 4-8 miles of canoeing.
Check-in starts at Downtown at 6:00 am to 7:30 am with instructions and (pre-plotted) map followed a pre-race meeting at 7:45 am. The race starts at 9:00 am after the bus ride.
All teammates must be present to check-in and receive instructions. The later you are the shorter the time to prepare. Your first discipline to start the race will be revealed during check-in.
A staging area will be set-up at check-in for bikes and paddling gear. For the 8HR race, we will be transporting these items if required.
We supply all canoes, paddles, and PFDs, however, teams may bring their own paddle gear if placed in paddle bags.
Water and snacks will be provided at most Transition Areas, however not guaranteed so bring water purification tablets.
Race Includes: T-shirt, Food and Drink during the race, Awards for each division, Dinner at the end of the race.

24HR Race
The 24 Hour race will be heading to the Cohutta Mountains. Check-in starts at 3:30 pm on Friday night with instructions and (pre-plotted) map followed by a pre-race meeting at 5:00 pm.
All teammates must be present to check-in and receive instructions. The later you are the shorter the time to prepare.
A staging area will be set-up at check-in for bikes, bins, and paddling gear. For the 24HR race, we will be transporting your paddle gear, bikes, and (one per any size team) 27-gallon bin. Team labels for bins and bags will be supplied by us.
There will be a bearing course added to this year's race so your team will need to have a basic understanding of how to shoot a bearing and count steps.
We supply canoes, paddles, and PFDs for both the whitewater and canoeing sections.
Teams will be allowed to bring their own paddle gear, however, they must be in a paddle bag.
Water and snacks will be provided at every TA, however not guaranteed so bring water purification tablets. There will be many stores along the route for refueling. After the first night, tents will be set up at TAs for team rest.

In order to speed up the check-in process on race day, please download and fill in the ARGeorgia Liability Waiver for each team member, and bring to the race with you to check-in.

Cancellation:
Rain or Shine. Our races are unlikely to ever cancel due to weather, however, sometimes extreme weather could cause delays or cancellation of the race. Refunds or Race credits will be issued based on each team's condition. If your team needs to withdraw, or we need to cancel you will receive a 100% refund before Early Registration ends or 3 months before. 75% refunds 30 days before the race date and 50% refunds 30 days out to the day before the race date.
