The best single track trails, beautiful location, music, and food.

The Fort Yargo Ultra is a 50K trail race with a 15.6-mile loop through one of Georgia's most beautiful State Parks, Fort Yargo. Voted some of the best single track trails in Georgia, this race will be 100% on trails with the 50K completing 2 loops of the 15.6-mile loop. The rolling hills surrounding the lake are the perfect backdrop for a fast finishing time if you are a competitive athlete and a great beginner race for someone's first Ultra. Start and Finish at the historic Fort Yargo State Park just outside Atlanta, GA. Early June is the perfect time with warm-weather just starting temps in the 80s. Using the same trails, there is a 25K and 15K option. 

Start and Finish Location: Fort Yargo State Park just outside Winder, Georgia. 210 S Broad St, Winder, GA 30680.

Enter the main gate and follow the directions of staff for parking.  The race check-in and start is at the Lake Pavilion right next to the brand new visitors center. Park fees are included in the race fee, so no need to pay at the gate. 

Schedule:

50K Start: 7:00 am   

25K Start: 7:30 am 

15K Start: 8:00 am 

The cut-off for all races is 5:00pm.

Fees: Includes race entry, dry-fit t-shirt, finisher medal, race photos, aid station snacks, and dinner.

50K - on or Before May 1st, $100

Awards:

All finishers will receive an amazing medal and a t-shirt.

Top 3 awards in each class below for each race. 

1. Overall Men - 1st in 50K/25K/15K receives a free 2021 entry. 

2. Overall Women - 1st in 50K/25K/15K receives a free 2021 entry. 

3. Masters Men (40-59)

Aid Stations:

There will be no need for a support crew during this event. We will have several fully stocked aid stations along the course to refuel and regain your strength. The 50K runners will be allowed 4 (one gallon) drop bag at the (3) aid station and Start/Finish which you will visit during the race. All aid stations will have water, Gatorade, cola, snacks, cookies, candy, sandwiches, and fruit. All other items will need to be carried by racers. Family and Support are welcome and we will have maps provided at the check-in for the aid station locations. Parking is limited.

Signs and flagging mark the entire course. 

Waivers:

Each runner must print and sign this Waiver and bring it to the check-in. 

Dinner:

We will be providing dinner at the finish for all racers starting at noon. Food Trucks will be providing fresh food made to order as you finish. 

Rules:

No cutting of the designed course. All flags must be punched to receive credit for the entire course. Details in pre-race email.

Listen and follow all instructions from race staff / medical personnel during the race.

Be courteous to other runners and day hikers.  

You may only receive the aid within 100 feet of an aid station that allows crew access

No littering. Take in, take out.

Trekking poles are allowed.

The Race Director has the sole discretion of the administration of any violations of the race rules ranging from a time penalty, up to and including disqualification.

Cancellations and Transfers:

We understand things happen. No refunds will be issued, however, you may transfer your entry to another racer in the same event without a penalty until 10 days before the event. You are responsible for finding a person interested in buying your entry as well as working out payment with them. Entries do not transfer to other events nor do they transfer year to year. If you would like to sell your entry to another racer, please contact info@argeorgia.com with the name and email of the person you wish to transfer your entry.
